Brian’s Bio
Brian Morgan is a musical alchemist fusing folk, rock, jazz and world music elements into songs of vivid imagery and glass-half-empty social commentary. Guitar, violin and bass are his instruments. Brian has travelled the country playing major music festivals as a member of the motorgrass band, Jughead. Internationally, he has recorded his music in China and performed in Greece, Turkey, Germany and the UK. Brian is also in high demand as a recording session player and accompanist in the Toronto club and concert scene. Recently, he released the Winterfolk Suite, a five-song, live video EP on YouTube and is also recording new material for release in 2026.

Have Music Will Travel
Many great memories: Tours of London, Minneapolis, and the Banff School of Fine Arts as a violist with the Regina Intercollegiate Orchestra. Impromptu violin concert for a military convoy near Gulu, Uganda. Busking on the Marienplatz and gigs at the Grünes Eck, in Munich. Two-month club gig in Iraklion, Crete. Private dinner performance for Ahmet Ertegun and guests at the TMT Resort in Bodrum, Turkey. Ten days at the By the Sea Festival with Jughead in Saint John. La Bamba in Lahore (see photo). Trio Aplicada opening the CBLA conference in Campo Grande, Brazil. A Banda Walkyrete in São Paulo. Lots of small town bars in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Curve of the Earth
“Brian Morgan’s ‘Curve of the Earth’ is an insightful collection of songs that draw you into a special world where east and west become one. The writing authentically tells stories of the everyday and the extraordinary embraced by lush melodies that transport you to another place.” – carolB (Ruby Slippers, CIUT89.5FM)
“Paint you with my Tears is really special, so delicate but truly a work of art. Love all the sounds; the seeming Haiku of the lyrics, and the Chinese singer is so beautiful. I was transported.”– Lisa Hartt (Lisa Hartt Music, emgcollectives)
Recorded in Chongqing and Toronto and released in December 2022. Six originals, one traditional Chinese song; reflections on a year (1987-88) spent in the Peoples Republic of China.
